We're working on acquiring non-profit status in 2012, and will commence fundraising in earnest when that status is nailed down.
In the meantime we do have expenses to cover, ranging from the small monthly charge for this website, to software and office supplies, to travel expenses for Desert Biodiversity representatives to speak at public events. And while we do have a few resources, every little bit helps.
We can't offer you a tax deduction for donations made before we're legally established as a 501 (c)3. But any membership payment of $25 or more to Desert Biodiversity before then will be honored as a full legal membership in the organization for a year after we gain that status. And you'll be helping us get off to a faster start.
