Petition in support of an Ivanpah Valley ACEC

desert tortoise glamour shot

Desert Biodiversity is working with Basin and Range Watch to establish an Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) in the Mojave Desert's Ivanpah Valley. The ACEC would be an alternative to the current rampant industrialization of the valley, which contains some of the best remaining habitat for the Threatened desert tortoise. Read more about the Ivanpah Valley.

Your signature will help persuade the Bureau of Land Management that an ACEC has significant public support.

I ask BLM to support Basin and Range Watch’s nomination of the Ivanpah Valley for an Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC). The ACEC is a better alternative to approving any more large-scale solar or other industrial projects in Ivanpah Valley.
